eCYMHS (telepsychiatry)

eCYMHS (telepsychiatry) provides access to child and adolescent psychiatry services for children and young people up to the age of 18 years, and their families, who live in rural and remote areas across Queensland.

The team is based in Brisbane and links with specific Child and Youth Mental Health Service clinics across the state via videoconference each week, and provides outreach to sites 3 times per year.

Catchment area

eCYMHS services are provided to Child and Youth Mental Health Services in specific Hospital and Health Services across rural and remote areas. Please phone us to find out whether your suburb falls within our catchment area.

You will need a formal referral to access this service.

How do I get a referral?

eCYMHS supports specific Child and Youth Mental Health Services. For all mental health referrals, please talk to your local Child and Youth Mental Health Service.

Information for health professionals

Outreach visits are conducted to each of these clinics 3 times a year. Professional development and upskilling is also provided for Child and Youth Mental Health Service staff and for agencies and services within each of the relevant Child and Youth Mental Health Service catchment areas. Referral to the service is via Child and Youth Mental Health Service clinics specifically serviced by eCYMHS across the state.
