Transcript

If you're feeling sick at the moment, or have a scratchy throat, you may need to have a test to find out if you have coronavirus.

It is a quick and simple test so there is no need to be worried.

The people doing the test will be wearing gowns, rubber gloves and a face mask to keep them, and you, safe from germs.

They'll put a small stick into your nose just for a few seconds. There's no need to be scared.

It doesn't hurt but it may feel a bit weird. It's really important to stay still and keep your chin up.

The clinic will let you know the results in a few days, but stay at home, don't go out until you're given the all clear.

After your child's test:

  • isolate until you get their results back
  • reduce contact with other family members
  • maintain physical distancing of 1.5 metres or 2 big steps away
  • practice good hand and respiratory hygiene.
