Transcript

Let's take a look at what a ward looks like here at the Queensland Children's Hospital.

Most wards have a nutrition bay and fridges where you can store your own food when you're here.

And in each room, as you can see, there is a bed, a whiteboard to write messages and a patient entertainment system where you can watch TV and Juice TV.

There's also a seat that turns into a bed for a parent or carer to stay overnight with you.

Every in-patients ward also has a family lounge for parents and carers to use.

These have a TV, fridge, shower, tea and coffee making facilities and a microwave.

You'll also see a lot of hand wash stations and sanitizing foam around the hospital and in the wards. This is for all staff, parents, patients and visitors to use regularly.

Remember having clean hands is really important for everyone in the hospital because very clean hands helps fight germs.

If you have any other questions, remember you can find more information on our website www.childrens.heqlth.qld.gov.au or you can call us on 07 3068 1111.
