The Queensland Children’s Hospital ACTION ( Advanced therapies and Clinical Trials InnovatiON) Centre is dedicated to giving children and young people with rare diseases and complex illnesses safe and timely access to new and potentially life-saving treatments.

About 400,000 Australian children currently live with a rare disease. Advanced therapies, such as gene therapy and cell therapy, have the potential to provide cures or significantly improve the health and quality of life of these children.

The ACTION Centre, established with the support of the Children’s Hospital Foundation, brings together the specialists at the Queensland Children’s Hospital, with Queensland’s world leading academic institutions and international health industry partners, to foster innovation and give hope to children and their families.

Through our shared purpose to deliver the best possible health outcomes for children, we are driving the rapid translation of scientific discoveries into life-changing treatments through clinical trials.

By exploring new therapies and treatments, we will pave the way for advancements in paediatric healthcare that will benefit generations to come.
