Your child will get 3 meals a day while they're staying in hospital. We meet special dietary requirements where this is part of your child’s medical care or cultural or religious needs.

If your child isn't on a restricted diet they can choose from a range of meals on our inpatient food trolleys which visit each ward. You don't pre-order meals.

Snacks and drinks are always available on wards. Just ask our nursing staff.

Our menu

  • Lunch: Hot meal with vegetables or a main salad, if it's available and dessert or fruit.
  • Dinner: Hot meal with vegetables and dessert or fruit.

Meal vouchers for parents and carers

You don't have to leave your child to find something to eat. You can use vouchers to buy meals from our inpatient food trolleys.

We need to make sure our patients have meals first, so you can buy yours after each patient has theirs.

Buying meal vouchers

You can buy vouchers from the café in the Food Court on Level 2 seven days a week between 6:30 am and 8 pm, and on public holidays from 9 am to 5 pm.

  • Each voucher costs $7.50, and will buy one meal (breakfast, lunch, or dinner) from the inpatient food trolley.
  • You can buy as many vouchers as you want.
  • You can use cash, eftpos or credit cards to buy vouchers.
  • You can use vouchers at the inpatient food trolleys for a full meal, or at the cafeteria for items of equivalent value.
  • Vouchers don't expire, and you can get a refund for any you don't use at the café.

You must use vouchers to buy meals from our food trolleys. We don't take cash or have eftpos on our wards.

Food court

Our food court has a range of hot and cold food. It's open every day from 6:30 am to 5 pm. Hours may vary on public holidays.
