About Healthy Kids

The project aims to bring together early childhood education and care educators (ECEC) with other key early- years partners in a series of free, quarterly professional development events.

These complement the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Framework, and include:

  • a presentation by health and early childhood leaders with a focus on strategies to support children’s health and wellbeing
  • small group reflective practice discussions
  • local panel Q&A.

The Healthy Kids program supports early childhood educators in these communities: Townsville, Burdekin, Mackay, Rockhampton, Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Bundaberg, Redcliffe Peninsular, Caboolture, Acacia Ridge, Logan, Ipswich, Toowoomba, Kingaroy, Lockyer Valley, South West Queensland, through a variety of in-person and online options.

Healthy Kids in 2024

After seven fantastic years of delivering Healthy Kids, we are taking a 6-month break to review what we've achieved and how we can best support early childhood educators around topics of health in the future. We've loved every minute of preparing topics, meeting educators, coordinating and supporting events!  Stay in the loop by subscribing to the Healthy Kids newsletter (see below).
