The Queensland Youth Advisory Group (YAG)

An important part of the Queensland Youth Cancer Service is the Queensland Youth Advisory Group (YAG).

YAG is made up of young people who have experienced a diagnosis of cancer as a patient, sibling or partner.

The role of the YAG is to advise the QYCS on health service planning, delivery and evaluation, education and training and developing spaces and facilities for patients and their families.

Founded in July 2013, YAG has four core portfolios of work:

  • Advisory
  • Advocacy
  • Peer support
  • Fundraising

The group is also passionate about sharing the message of early cancer detection in young people and supporting adolescents and young people aged 15-25 – and their families – who are undergoing cancer treatment.

If you’d like to get involved with YAG, please email: or download our Expression of interest form. For more information you can also download our YAG flier.
