Imagination - We dream big.

Putting people first

At Children’s Health Queensland, we prioritise people, partnerships, equity and innovation to deliver the best possible care for Queensland children and young people. We believe in the Planetree philosophy of care which champions kindness, caring and respect to ensure the needs of people – patients, families and staff - remain at the heart of every healthcare experience. In practice, this means we consider every child and young person as a unique individual to be cared for, not just a medical condition or injury to be treated. It also means we value patients and their families as true partners in the care we provide.

Planetree recognised our commitment to person-centred care in January 2021, awarding us Gold Certification for Excellence in Person-Centred Care. Children’s Health Queensland is the first and only paediatric healthcare organisation in Australia and the Southern Hemisphere to achieve this certification.
